From the time that
Roy & Jenny Duncan first visited College Avenue, it was evident that
their intention was to be actively involved. They volunteered to help in
the kitchen, behind the scenes, or anywhere that was needed even though
their home was several miles from town!
Whenever the ladies have a get-together Jenny is faithful to attend and
even became a main speaker at a retreat within their first couple of
years of being here. She earned our respect even more as she shared some
incredible hardships and losses that both she and her husband have
endured. Hardly any of us knew that as she always has a smile on her
face, an encouraging word to say and a hug to brighten everyone's day.
Roy is known for his humor and cheerfulness also. He kept the kids
entertained and will always be remembered as “Cowboy Roy” at this year's
VBS. They have been involved countless other ways such as Growth Group
leaders, hosting our “Heroes of Faith” class, staffing our Welcome
Center, teaching at Camp Kurios, and organizing our recent Blood Drive.
They are loved by young and old alike. We are very blessed that Roy and
Jenny Duncan came to live and be a part of our church family at College
Avenue.
