On Sunday, February 17 the leadership at College Avenue presented the first "Servant's Towel." The idea was proposed by our elders as a way to recognize the efforts of many in our congregation who may not receive the recognition they deserve. The towel was an obvious choice because it represents the true leadership as found in God's Word. In John 13 as Jesus was about to sit down with his disciples for the Passover Feast, Jesus humbles Himself and takes the form of a servant as He washes the feet of His closest followers and friends. It is here that He teaches His disciples a lesson they would not soon forget. Our first recipient of the Servant's Towel has taken that message to heart. Jane Reynolds can be found teaching the weekly Ladies' Class, mentoring young mothers, or chaperoning a group of anxious teenagers at UpLift each summer. She also serves on the Board of Camp Kurios and works at camp each summer. Her dedication to the Lord and His Word is contagious and has impacted the lives of countless Christians young and old. Jane is married to Jack Reynolds and has three children: Jonathan, Sarah, and Anna. Kent Jobe. |
